Residence permit in Cyprus

CYPRUS: Immigration certificate / residence permit in Cyprus / Yellow Slip for Greek citizens or citizens of the European Union
Greek citizens residing in Greece or citizens of the European Union can apply for an immigration certificate / residence permit in Cyprus / Yellow Slip to have the right to reside and work in Cyprus.
The application for the issuance of an immigration certificate / residence permit in Cyprus / Yellow Slip can be submitted immediately or at least within 4 months from the date of settlement in Cyprus.

Required documents
The following documents are required for the application for an immigration certificate / residence permit in Cyprus / Yellow Slip:
• Valid passport or ID card along with at least 2 copies of the same.
• Personal insurance coverage – contract.
• Stamped rental agreement for a property. The property address must be stated in these documents.
• Recent utility bill, e.g., electricity.

Depending on the purpose of immigration to Cyprus:
• For employment: A certificate of employment (a recent letter from the employer signed and stamped 1 week before the application submission), a recent confirmation of payment from the Social Insurance Services of Cyprus showing the name of the new employer, and an employment contract.
• For self-employed individuals: A certificate of registration with the Social Insurance Services of Cyprus showing the applicant as self-employed.
• For any other reason besides the above: Evidence of stable or sufficient income from abroad, certificates of dividends and interest, bank account statements and certificates, etc., as well as proof of payment for private health insurance from an insurance company in Cyprus or abroad.

The applicant’s bank account can be in Cyprus or in any other European country. The bank account statement should be available for the last 3 to 6 months, certified by the relevant bank, and must prove a monthly stable income originating from abroad and deposited into the bank account (i.e., a sufficient source of income must be proven to ensure the applicant’s comfortable stay in Cyprus).
