Obtaining a Cyprus Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Tax File Number (TFN) is a straightforward process that can be completed in a short period of time.

Every individual establishing residence in the Republic of Cyprus is required to obtain a Cyprus TIN.

Individuals working in Cyprus are required to register with the Tax Department if their annual gross income exceeds €19,500.

Individuals who reside in Cyprus for 183 days or more in a tax year and have income from abroad can also obtain a TIN. In this case, they will be taxed based on the income earned worldwide.

Companies (legal entities) that are based in Cyprus, where management and control are exercised within the country, are also required to register with the Tax Department and obtain a TIN.

Required Documents to Obtain an Individual Cyprus TIN:

  • Completed registration application form for the Tax Department

  • Passport or national ID card

  • Rental agreement or a utility bill in Cyprus (electricity, water)
